THE ARTIST & TEACHER
Meet Olivia
Where it began
Inspired from the age of 15 by my art teacher who taught me skills and techniques but most importantly, how to engage in creative bravery which stimulates self-belief and a very empowering confidence and knowledge. This is what I do now. Out in the open. Connecting nature, souls, minds, and our inner child. To create art in a playful way.
WE ARE ALL CREATIVE
I AM COMMITTED TO SHOWING YOU HOW TO UNDERSTAND AND EXPLORE YOUR CREATIVITY SO TO EMBRACE YOUR FULL POTENTIAL
The journey continued
I became an artist after experiencing many different education settings around Europe – BA in London, MA in Nice, Post MA in Geneva – exhibiting, making, sharing, discussing, growing in as many different environments as I could. In 2013 I needed an injection of money so I went off to sea and became a successful Chief Stewardess on Yachts. I travelled the world and fell in love with my blue horizon and the unexpected way of life. Eight years passed at sea and out there I met my partner – a Looe boy – and we returned to this beautiful town and had our son.
My experience inspired me
I trained as an Art Teacher at Plymouth University, gaining my PGCE in Secondary School Education. After a teaching in schools, I realised that I wanted to share my knowledge in the open air, on the Cornish coast line. Teaching and learning outdoors has miraculous benefits for one’s health and happiness, and being amongst the elements can really stimulate our inner joy and we feel a strong sense of freedom to create without inhibition.
My commitment to progressive learning is infinite. This means I am here to share my knowledge and skills but to celebrate you, your journey, your growth and your ideas. This makes me an interactive artist now. I believe we are all learning, all the time, and this can be a very playful and empowering experience - art is our cradle to discover the deeper meanings of ourselves and the world around us.
